"Game of Thrones" season 7 will feature Cersei at her most villainous yet as she looks out, not anymore for her children, but only for herself and yet rumor say that she may soon face her demise, with fans possibly rejoicing instead of mourning for her. Moreover, actress Lena Headey plays Cersei so effectively particularly putting her own brand of quiet villainy, an impeccable performance matched by her mega salary.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 will be featuring more of Cersei as she takes the Iron Throne. Last season finale has shown Cersei grappling with various obstacles primarily by the authoritarian High Septon, but the cunning Lannister matriarch has seen the demise of the radical sect through a wildfire explosion.

The only unfortunate consequence is that Cersei lost her last living child as King Tommen jumps out to commit suicide. Then Cersei, ever the survivor, claims the throne while her brother Jaime looks on seemingly in the know that troubles will soon come.

This time, trouble is brought by ships across the waters as Daenerys Taragaryen sets off for Westeros to claim her right to the Iron Throne. Also across the icy wall, the threat of the Night King and his army of wights and the undead will also put Cersei's rule to the utmost test.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 may finally see the demise of Queen Cersei with GOT fans possibly celebrating the end of the most wretched and cunning villains in the series. Yet, Headey in an interview with Mashable claims that she does not play Cersei as a villain, but more of a woman looking out for her own survival.

Moreover, Headey hinted that there will be no redemption for Cersei saying that if there was, it could ruin the show. Clearly, there will be no happy ending for Jaime and Cersei in the "Game of Thrones" season 7.

Headey does Cersei so well with her own brand of villainy unmatched or possibly matched by her mega salary. Headey along with co-stars Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Kit Harrington (Jon Snow), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), and Nicolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) have recently negotiated for a pay raise. Headey and company are now making more than $1 million dollars per episode with "Game of Thrones" season 7 having seven episodes while season 8 has six episodes.

In fact, Headey's mega salary in the "Game of Thornes" is now the object of contention by ex-husband Peter Loughran who is asking the court to make Headey pay for his legal fees, E News reported. Headey and Loughran are presently in a custody battle over their one and only child, 6-years-old Wylie.
