Tesla CEO, Elon Musk will join President-elect Donald Trump's Strategic and Policy Forum. Also named in last Wednesday's announcement are Uber CEO Travis Kalanick and PepsiCo chairperson and CEO Indra Nooyi.

Earlier this month, Trump announced the 16 members of the newly formed economic advisory board who is expected to advise him regarding business matters in the formulation of his economic plans. Musk will join IBM CEO Ginni Rometty who was the sole representative from the tech sector, according to Silicon Valley Business Journal.

Before the additions of Musk and Kalanick, none of the other CEO's picked ahead of them was from Silicon Valley. Interestingly, top heads in the Valley supported Democrat Hillary Clinton during this year's presidential elections.

Furthermore, both Musk and Kalanick were critical of Trump during the campaign. Musk, at one point even said that he feel strongly that Trump is probably not the right person to be president. Kalanick for his part said he would move to China if Trump were elected, Fortune reported.

Trump and the tech leaders along with the other who were picked to join the advisory team will be in a summit at the Trump Tower in New York on Wednesday. Among those attending, include Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Alphabet CEO Larry Page and Chairman Eric Schmidt, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, Oracle co-CEO Safra Catz, and Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins.

Meanwhile, Trump communication director confirmed Apple CEO Tim Cook would attend the summit but would also stick around for a private meeting with the president-elect, alongside Musk. Details regarding topics for discussion during the private meeting are not immediately known but we speculate that it will like focus on Apple's transfer of manufacture of Apple products to the U.S. among other things.
