"State of Decay" game creators revealed that its sequel will be in a new and bigger town. This is exactly what fans are clamouring for, a bigger map where they can play the open-world survival RPG with more of their friends.

Larger World Lets Co-Op Players Split up

Game creators Undead Labs Head Jeff Strain and design director Richard Foge said that so far the only information they can divulge about the sequel is that it is substantially larger than its predecessor, State of Decay, IGN reported. According to Strain, millions of "State of Decay" fans want the prequel to be set in a bigger and better arena where they can play and have fun with their friends. They intend to deliver on that demand, he said.

However, Strain said they are still not ready to announce exact details, especially on the kilometers of the playable locations, the size of the maps, and other numbers on the scale of the area.

New details Emerge for State of Decay

"State of Decay" is a four-player co-operation game, but Strain said that players can choose to separate from the four-member team. But this is not really a good idea, especially in certain tough situations, GameSpot reported.

Breaking away from the team could be a good idea if one of the players needs to get medical supplies from the base. Or if the team needs to have separate responsibilities, like two scavenge while the other two get a car to bring the goods back to base. Players can also go separately for individual missions and just come together if one of them needs help.

There are a lot of strategies that players can come up with, and that's what matters when playing "State of Decay," said Strain. Meanwhile, Richard Foge said there will be no PvP features in the sequel, but other players can very well directly affect the simulation, like attracting more zombies to a particular team.

"State of Decay 2" has no confirmed release date yet, but it is expected to roll out in 2017.
