The Samsung Galaxy S7 update brings the latest Android Nougat 7.1.1 to Samsung flagship devices including S7 and S7 Edge, the first outside of Google's own devices. From Android Marshmallow to Android Nougat 7.1, Samsung gets the full benefits from a variety of new emojis, Google's new keyboard and "launcher shortcuts."

The Samsung Galaxy S7 update may allow the South Korean firm to directly get the latest version of Android Nougat and skip the ongoing 7.0 beta testing for participating Samsung devices. This could happen in a few weeks' time when Samsung rolls out the latest update since Google left the release of the latest OS to third party manufacturers.

As of present, Google's very own devices have been updated to the latest Android Nougat 7.1.1 and these are the Pixel, Pixel XL with the Nexus GP. The Samsung Galaxy S7 update was announced earlier and in a forum in XDA developers, some members have stated getting confirmation from Samsung itself.

Previous report on the Samsung Galaxy 7 update revealed that Samsung was rolling out the Android Nougat 7.0 beta update to selected participating devices. Now, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge may update from Android Marshmallow straight to Android Nougat 7.1.1, bringing major enhancements and upgrades.

The latest Samsung Galaxy S7 update include new emojis with emphasis on gender equality, allowing female versions of male-only emojis like the astronaut, the Express reported. The update also includes access to Google's new keyboard where support for image is included and insertion of stickers and GIFs into apps enabled.

The "launcher shortcuts" also enable users to create or publish circular shortcuts for various apps and launch icons. The restart button is now featured in the power menu where it was previously not included in Android Nougat 7.0.

More importantly, new features of the latest Samsung Galaxy update to android Nougat 7.1.1 include access to Google's Daydream Virtual Reality platform, GottaBe Mobile has learned. This means that developers can start building new immersive VR apps for Android devices.
