An ex-Roxbury middle school music teacher was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison last Monday, Dec. 5, after paying a 13-year-old minor to perform sex acts on Skype while he watches on his computer.

David Adams, 30, a resident of Branchburg, NJ, pleaded guilty last August to one count of online enticement of a minor to perform in criminal sexual conduct. Adams admitted to committing the felony before U.S. District Court Judge William Walls who senteced the former music teacher to 127 months.

Adams confessed that he used various Internet applications, including Skype, to commit the crimes while residing in Roxbury between June and September in 2014. Adams said he paid the minor using primarly PayPal, and later through other payment modes, and in exchange for such payment, that he be allowed to watch the 13-year-old perform sexual acts on Skype, according to a Tapinto report. 

Adams was a music teacher at Eisenhower Middle School before transfering for a teaching post at Bridgewater-Raritan High School in Somerset County.

Special agent Robert Fitzsimmons of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security submitted a statement to the court to help consolidate the case against Adamas. Fitzsimmons said that Adams began conversing with the boy, who resides in another state, through text messages and Skype video sessions. Although the boy was 13-years-old, he lied and told Adams that he was 14, according to Fitzsimmons.

"For example, on or about September 3, 2014, defendant Adams directed Minor Victim 1 to masturbate during a video chat via Skype," said Fitzsimmons in his statement.

The criminal complaint and statement labelled the boy as "Minor Victim 1" to protect his identity. The report says that the boy followed all of Adam's requests.

Further, Adams texted to Minor Victim 1 if he can masturbate in the bathroom with the cam steady. Adams comments that it gets blurry when it moves. Further, he cannot wait to see the boy strip nice and slow.
