Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé appeared on the American talk show "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night. Fils-Aimé showed off the upcoming side-scrolling game "Super Mario Run," "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," as well as the upcoming Nintendo Switch.

Fils-Aimé allowed TV host Fallon to play the upcoming action-adventure video game on the Nintendo Switch on both the large screen and as a handheld gaming system. While Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario and Zelda, sat in the audience to watch Fallon give the new games a try.

Then, the Nintendo of America president plugged a Jan. 12 event where Nintendo plans to make more announcements about the upcoming Nintendo Switch console. Nonetheless, it was the live debut of Nintendo Switch on North American television, Digital Trends reported.

The Nintendo Switch is set to launch in March 2017. The Breath of the Wild has no time window other than 2017, however the game might not arrive until June.

On the other hand, the Nintendo Switch is still a mystery as the video game company continues to hold information back until Jan. 2017. In spite of that, new rumors have emerged indicating that the Nintendo Switch will be rolling out with a GameCube to its Virtual Console.

Unidentified sources from Nintendo claimed that the Nintendo Switch is not only going to play GameCube games, but a number of games have been listed. The inclusion of a GameCube Virtual Console in Nintendo Switch is unique given that the upcoming console will not play both Wii and Wii U games, according to EuroGamer.

Nintendo has yet to confirm or deny these speculations. Nevertheless, more details regarding the upcoming Nintendo Switch will be unveiled during a Nintendo Direct event on Jan. 2017. The Nintendo event is expected to reveal the full capabilities of the gaming system, which includes a possible GameCube Virtual Console.
