In the latest teaser trailer of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", Mantis is shown towards the end, confirming that she appears in the movie. Mantis, played by Pom Klementieff, is an alien who lacks social cues and spends the entire movie learning how to socialize properly.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mantis has a funny moment in the trailer of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" that will have people buzzing. She carelessly reveals Star-Lord's feelings for Gamora. Star-Lord immediately denies it after Drax laughs at them all. Mantis has a confused look while all of that is going on, which is great acting on the part of Klementieff.

Looking at Mantis' appearance in the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," her background goes back in the comics according to Inverse. Based on The Avengers #112, Mantis is the half-Vietnamese, half-German daughter of Libra and was raised by the Kree in a Vietnam temple. The Kree trained her, because they believed she was the Celestial Madonna, in preparation to birth the Celestial Messiah.

One fan hoped that Mantis would show her "signature fight move" in the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." In the comics, Mantis would target weak and pressure points in an opponent's body, which enabled her to take down powerful beings like Thor.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Baby Groot, Aaron Schwartz as Young Ego, Dave Bautista as Drax, Chris Sullivan as Taserface, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Michael Rooker as Yondu and Kurt Russell as Ego. The movie is directed by James Gunn and is scheduled to open in theatres on April 26, 2017.
