The Samsung Galaxy S8 will roll out without a headphone jack, and the smartphone might have no home button, just like Apple's iPhone 7. The tech company's upcoming flagship will be available with a USB Type-C port instead of a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The decision of the South Korean tech giant to design the Galaxy S8 with no headphone jack enables the tech company to make the smartphone much thinner, as well as giving some room for more battery space, Sam Mobile reported.

The removal of Galaxy S8's Home button is something that other smartphone manufacturers are said to be considering for upcoming devices. With that, Samsung is expected to embed an optical fingerprint sensor of sorts into the display of Galaxy S8, 9 To 5 Google has learned.

Nonetheless, Apple Inc. was arguably the first tech giant to ditch the standard 3.5mm headphone jack with its iPhone 7. The Cupertino based tech giant received a backlash due to its decision to remove the headphone jack. In spite of that, the tech company defended their move, as they claimed that it was a display of courage to do something new and beneficial. Many other smartphone manufacturers have since hopped on the bandwagon.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone is slated to be released at the 2017 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Spain. Building Samsung's upcoming smartphone without headphone jack could give the tech company the chance to improve the speaker of the device.

It has been said that the Galaxy S8 would come along with a dual stereo speakers like Apple's iPhone 7. The speakers and the technology powering these gadgets would reportedly be designed by Harman.

The South Korean tech company purchased Harman in November to strengthen the company's connected car business. Neither Samsung nor Harman has confirmed or even denied the claims about the dual speaker technology of the upcoming Galaxy S8, according to Fone Arena.
