Although PlayStation VR was behind schedule to join the VR industry, but it's already dominating well ahead of Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Sony's virtual reality headset holds the biggest market share.

The current market share of Sony's PlayStation VR is estimated at around 30 percent, followed by 11 percent for Oculus Rift, and 6 percent for HTC Vive. The estimates of the current market share are part of an analysis done by the market research company, 01consulting.

The research company has been recording the data for the past few months. To that end, the data estimates were based on sales from over 30 companies and 40 products around the world, according to Games Industry.

The report of the research company also takes into account revenue, and units sold for each seller. The lead Sony currently holds is because of the cheaper entry price of the PlayStation VR headset, as well as the massive install base that the PS4 provides.

In related news, the surgical simulation game "Surgeon Simulator: ER" for PSVR is said to have a strange control scheme, wherein many gamers have told game developer Bossa Studios that they hate it. Unlike most VR games, moving a player's hand with the PlayStation Move motion controller is not one-to-one with a player's in-game hand, Venture Beat reported.

In spite of that, the video game developer decided to mess with the players of PlayStation VR by creating a scheme where hand motion is relative. If a PlayStation VR player wave the Move wands 1 foot in the real world, then that player's in-game hand will actually move about 2 feet inside Surgeon Simulator.

That being the case, "Surgeon Simulator: ER" on PlayStation VR will feature all of the original surgeries featured in the original game, as well as some VR exclusives. The surgical simulation game has sold over 3 million copies across its many platforms, Attack Of The Fanboy has learned.
