A "Friends" reunion will not happen anytime soon for the show will no longer have its place in an era dominated by social media like Facebook and Instagram. However, fans of "Friends" can still watch the old episodes via syndication, which actually gives every cast member a whopping $1 million dollars in revenues every year.

"Friends" was one of the most popular TV show of all time and even after 12 years since its last season, fans are still clamoring for a reunion. However, Jennifer Aniston, the breakout star of "Friends" who plays Rachel Green, dashed all hopes of a reunion after an interview with Lorraine Kelly in iTV.

Aniston was promoting her latest movie "Office Christmas Party," which will hit theaters on Dec. 9. When asked a possible "Friends" reunion, Aniston made it very clear that it will not happen anytime soon, US Magazine has learned.

Aniston believed that the essence of "Friends" where friends sat down together to talk is now lost in an era dominated by social media. Nowadays, when friends get together, everyone is often checking their Facebook or Instagram.

The 47-year-old actress says "we've lost that" referring to the innate appeal of "Friends" that makes it so popular. The season finale garnered more than 50 million viewers and every season of "Friends" including the first one consistently ranked in the top 10 most watched TV shows, CNN reported.

Nonethless, fans of NBC's hit TV series can still watch all the episodes of "Friends" in syndicated TV. In fact, syndication revenues annually are at $ 1 billion dollars and every cast member gets $1 million dollars a year.

It is not surprising then that a "Friends" reunion may not be a top priority by the cast members for without doing anything they still earn a substantial amount of money from just the reruns. Moreover, other "Friends" stars, namely, Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt Le Blanc (Joey Tribbiani), and Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing) have moved on to other projects in film, TV and on stage.
