Exercise offers numerous physical benefits, and that's a fact. According to a number of research, exercise can add years to your life by making you healthier not only physically, but also mentally.

The lack of physical activity and sedentary lifestyle has always been associated with heart diseases and early death, which explains why exercise and sports are strongly encouraged to lead longer life. Now the question is which sports are the best to keeping you young?

According to a study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine in November 29, the activities like swimming, tennis and aerobics are the ones that are more effective when it comes to preventing an early death caused by heart disease and stroke. This study was conducted among 80,306 adults in England and Scotland between 1994 and 2008. These adults aging 52 on an average were examined based on their activities and tracked how their activities were associated with the risk of death.

As expected, those people who had more physical activities were less likely to die compared to the ones who lived sedentary lifestyle. However, in the study, it was observed how some sports had a higher impact on a person's life span compared to the other sports.

Tennis players and swimmers were found to have longer life than those who did not have any exercise at all. Similar results were found on those who participated in aerobics. There are some sports also where researchers did not notice a significant impact like running and jogging. But, this does not mean that they don't extend a person's life, because they still do, especially when it is something that's done consistently.

Generally, it does not matter what sports you engage yourself into, the most important thing is that you do something you can sustain on a regular basis. You just got to find something that can keep you moving.
