On Saturday, Nov. 28, the President-elect Donald Trump's Manhattan skyscraper has been recently renamed Dump Tower in the Google Maps. The Trump Tower has been used as the headquarter for Donald Trump's transition government and is said that he is going to stay more frequently in the tower instead of staying at the White House.

The recent rebranding of the Trump Tower became trending in Twitter last Saturday, where some were amused while others condemned Google for being biased.

It is not just the Trump Tower which got renamed. Another property of President Donald Trump located in Columbus, the Trump International Hotel and Tower was also rebranded to Dump International Hotel and Tower, Digital Trends reported.

It isn't clear though if Mr. Trump was aware of the changes made in the name of his towers and the culprit isn't yet identified. Although, it is believed that what happened was an inside job.

Rebranding or renaming of the Trump Tower to Dump Tower is not the first incident on Google Maps. The towns and cities in Spain were also renamed in March 2015, wherein the towns and cities' names were named after their original names in the last thousand years, The Telegraph reported.

Google Maps was also grilled after Palestine was deleted from the maps facility in August, although the disappearance of the West Bank and Gaza didn't take long.

Following the recent changes made by users on the Google Maps, they said that they take these kind of matters seriously. However, they added that since the Map service is widely used around the world, occasional inaccuracies are expected with the kind of collaborative system.

Anyway, any user can make any changes on the Google Maps through the Google Map Maker as explained on the Google Map FAQs although any changes are approved by the moderators.
