A Syrian girl living in the middle of a warzone has recently received a gift from famed Harry Potter series author, J.K. Rowling, after the latter learned that the girl wanted to read her novel.

Bana al-Abed, 7, has been gifted with the "Harry Potter" book series by no other than J.K. Rowling herself. Bana was righ-smacked in the middle of the Syrian crisis in eastern Allepo when her mother Fatemah, who manages her daughter's Twitter account, tweeted Rowling.

According to a Time magazine report, Bana's mother sent J.K. Rowling a public tweet asking the author if there would ever be a chance for them to get one of her bestselling series "Harry Potter." 

The public Tweet went:

"Hi @jk_rowling I watched Harry Potter movie, Bana would like to read the book," her mother Fatemah, Bana's mother, tweeted on Monday.

Bana and her mother live in a war-torn area where the last functioning hospital in its city was bombed. In a place where air strikes and bombings are becoming common, getting books distributed is a real challenge. When Bana's mother said it is hard for them to get books into Syria, Twitter users urged J.K Rowling to grant the little girl's wish. 

J.K. Rowling responded to Bana al-Abed's tweet saying, "I hope you do read the book, because I think you'd like it. Sending you lots of love."  

On Wednesday, a magical thing happened. Bana tweeted again sending gratitude to the author. She said on a tweet:

J. K. Rowling tweeted and told other users that she and her team were able to send Bana an eBook copy of the “Harry Potter” series. On a tweet the author said, “Love you too, Bana! Thinking of you, keep safe #Aleppo.”

Over the years, Syria has been devastated by midnight bombings and airstrikes leaving many dead in the aftermath.
