The 2017 Mazda CX-5 SUV has reportedly gone through a major overhaul and latest reports reveal that the vehicle could add diesel. The compact SUV is slated to add 2.5-liter four-cylinder engines and a six-speed manual, among others. The CX-5 is also expected to feature rigid steering mounts.

Mid-year 2016 is said to feature a major boost for the upcoming 2017 Mazda CX-5 SUV. Sightlines have reportedly been improved from the driver's seat with the A-pillar rearward. Additionally, the head-up display may now deliver navigation info and the 7-inch infotainment screen resolution at the center of the dash has been improved, Slashgear reported.

Under the hood, the 2017 Mazda CX-5 SUV offers between 2.0 liters to 2.5 liters four-cylinder engines and a six-speed manual. The SUV will also feature a six-speed automatic on-hand. Furthermore, the CX-5 reportedly aims to add a Skyactiv-D engine to the crossover line-up by mid 2017.

It is yet to be revealed how much power the motors on the 2017 Mazda CX-5 SUV will make. However, if such details remain, the rungs of the ladder may still be labeled 155 and 184 horses respectively. Other features remain such as an all-wheel drive, a six-speed automatic transmission and a six-speed manual.

In other news, current owners of the Mazda CX-5 have reported that the SUV's NVH needed attention. Apparently, the vehicle also sports a dreaded noise, vibration and harshness. On that note, Mazda engineers reportedly made sure that the second-generation redesigned model 2017 Mazda CX-5 SUV would offer a more quiet driving for its owners, AutoBlog reported.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 SUV is said to offer more aerodynamic parts strategically paced about the exterior to reduce wind noise. Furthermore, extra efforts have reportedly been made to reduce the low-frequency noises on coarse surfaces.
