Google Assistant is making its mark as a virtual helper for smartphone users. When Google included the software on every Pixel smartphone, it gave users the experience of having a virtual assistant at the tip of their fingertips.

It seems Apple is set to follow the trend. Tech Crunch revealed that Apple has acquired a patent that will allow Siri to be integrated into Apple's iMessage. Siri will come with exciting additional features such as peer-to-peer payments.

Apple Insider first uncovered this report and it showed the future plans for Siri. It would appear that a new version of Siri could tap into user's information. So let's say that an office group chat was created and one can enter a command saying, "Siri, organize a meeting schedule." What would Siri do is access the calendar of everyone present in the group chat to find a suitable time and date for the meeting.

Siri can even help organize trips or events. A simple command such as "Siri, when are free to watch a movie" will allow the software to check the available movie times online versus the calendar of all those participating in the group chat. Somehow, Siri can make things less complicated.

Aside from arranging schedules, perhaps the most valuable feature of this new patent is the peer-to-peer payment. Siri can search for the most appropriate method of payment that's convenient for all. This feature can be really beneficial to businesses that are thriving online.

Apple made sure that the privacy of their users remains intact. The users are given the control when it comes to their personal information. Peer-to-peer payments are going to be checked twice and verified using Touch ID.

It still not known if this feature is going to be included in the latest Apple products, but it make sense to expand Siri's integration. Other companies are already doing the same - for Samsung. Its Viv and of course, Google assistant.
