Consumers will have so much to choose from come Black Friday and if one is looking o enjoy their e-reading experience some more, there's good news right around the corner with Barnes & Noble's very own Nook tablet.

Bookstore chain Barnes & Noble is taking on its biggest competition Amazon as it releases its $50 tablet for consumers who enjoy e-reading. The 7-inch, 8GB tablet is a simple Android tablet already customized with the Nook software, The Verge reported. It also has a front and rear camera and allows consumers to store up to 128GB with a microSD card. The tablet has 7 hours of battery life and features a 1,024 by 600 pixels display. It also has a quad-core processor and has Bluetooth connectivity.

Barnes & Noble's Chief digital officer, Fred Argir said the Nook tablet runs at Android 6.0 Marshmallow allows its users to access Google App Store, which is good news to all its fans since Nook's App store was discontinued last March, PC Mag reported.

The tablet already contains Barnes & Noble's audiobooks and magazines. It also allows its users to read addictive excerpts or even free and serialized contents with the feature called Readouts. These can be shared. They're all mobile friendly. But most of all, they are specifically curated by Barnes & Noble editors, who are arguably the best in the world.

The Nook tablet was priced directly to compete against its biggest rival: the 7-inch Fire tablet of Amazon. Tech consumers will find the rear camera the icing to the cake. But e-reading addicts will find that the curated reads by Barnes & Noble editors is the best feature this $50 tablet has to offer.

The Nook tablet is now available for pre-order at the Barnes & Noble website and will be available for shipping on Black Friday.
