Huawei reportedly exceeds 11Gbps Internet speed based on a large-scale field trial in Japan. The trial is said to follow the memorandum of understanding between DoCoMo and Huawei in December 2014. Currently, both companies are testing Massive MIMO, Polar Code and combined performance of SCMA in Japan.

A Japanese field trial of 5G network technology was recently done in Yokohama, Japan. Both Huawei and NTT DoCoMo have been tested over the 4.5GHz spectrum band. Apparently, both telecom companies also reached speed of 11.29Gbps.

The large-scale field trial was conducted in Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 District. The test also made use of new frame structure and numerology according to 3GPP 5G New Radio standards. Huawei also noted that the macro cell was made up with a single base station working in 4.5GHz band, 200MHz bandwidth, 23 UES of static and mobile types and 64 TRXs.

The Chinese networking company quickly announced the 11.29Gbps achievement with a latency of less than 0.5ms, ZDNet reported. The latency is said to represent one tenth of other 4G networks. The test reportedly revealed 11.29Gbps total user throughput achieved with 24 layers. Hence, each UE received two layers and a peak spectrum efficiency was reached at 79.82bps/Hz/cell.

Meanwhile, Huawei and DoCoMo have also teamed up in the past to demonstrate 3.6 Gbps 5G network. Both companies' second team up was also proven to be successful. The results of the experiment are also believed to connote that the telecommunications industry is right on track in their aim of standardizing and commercializing 5G technology by 2020, Android Headlines reported.

Huawei also announced a new breakthrough last month with the British company Vodafone. Apparently, a partnership was formed between the two to conduct the world's first 5G test in high and low-frequency bands. The test is said to be set in an urban or densely populated area.
