Japanese hardware giant Nintendo announced today that it's making a new escape room puzzle game themed around the iconic gaming franchise, the "Legend of Zelda."

Called "Defenders of the Triforce," the real-world escape room puzzle game is being built in partnership with the escape room company SCRAP, and will going to eight major US cities beginning January 31. However, reports said that the new game will be different from a typical escape room game. The new adventure game will also feature many of the familiar Zelda game that fans have to come to expect.

According to Nintendo, instead of challenging players to solve the puzzle game and escape from the locked room, people will try to solve a mystery within a set time limit. It requires six people working together to do this in an area, Nintendo added.

First released on 1986, the "Legend of Zelda" is a high fantasy action-adventure video game series created by Japanese game designers, and was later developed and published by Nintendo. The game centers around the playable character called Link and incorporate elements of action puzzle-solving games and adventure.

As the Polygon reported earlier, players will work together to solve a mystery set in a large area and interact with classic items and characters seen in The Legend of Zelda series. Polygon added that discovered items can be used to solve puzzle game and then move into other areas, just like in the iconic the "Legend of Zelda" game.
