Fitness tracking firm Fitbit is making some big changes in its products, adding in-game rewards for those people who use its wearable. Fitbit on Wednesday has announced an integration with the game publisher's NBA 2K17, which enables video game players to receive a small in-game boost to their MyPlayer avatar.

The partnership is the first integration between a leader in the connected health and fitness market and a top-selling NBA video game simulation series. In the first-of-kind-integration, gamers who achieved the firm's 10,000 tracked-steps in a day will receive a small in-game boost to their MyPlayer in NBA 2K17, earning them a +5 attribute boost to their MyPlayer in categories like agility, speed, layups and other stats.

According to Digital Trends, boosted characters will retain their agility, speed and other stats across their next five simulated NBA games. Players can also earn additional Fitbit bonuses every 24 hours, and players who maintain a daily workout schedule can effectively play with a boosted character throughout the entirety of the simulated NBA game.

As what we have learned, the integration will be enabled for players on November 25, just in time for the Yuletide season.

In addition, the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC versions of NBA 2K17 will introduce Fitbit support as part of a free update, which will be launch worldwide on November 25.
