"Batman: Return to Arkham" does not perform as well as its origins "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City".

Reportes have it that while the two original games were some of the best games ever released for the Dark Knight's gaming fans, the beloved games were not nearly successfully imported to the new consoles as much as expected.

"Return to Arkham" brings the originals with it and has been ported to Unreal Engine 4 by Virtuos. It's supposed to be an upgrade for the originals but the result is not as impressive as everyone had hoped, PlayStation Lifestyle reported.

According to the published review, the character models' textures have improved but even non-experts can see that only the lighting has been modified. Players, however, are left with an option to turn the gamma down a bit to the level that they're comfortable with.

"Return to Arkham" is a rehas that is generally disappointing because nothing much was changed despite the fact that the originals were ran on Unreal Engine 3 and were transported to the current-gen systems such as the superior Unreal Engine 4.

The new graphics engine transfer certainly made it look more valuable than the originals but it lost the originals' "dark Gothic presentation"; its allure which is the biggest factor why the game was very intimidating to play and why fans are so into it, GMA Network reported.

With the inconsistency of the frame rate, which leaves it lagging sometimes, players will even feel like the originals perform better despite the fact that it's mounted on a powerful console such as PlayStation 4. But perhaps its biggest downfall, to which majopr players were really diappointed about, was because "Batman: Arkham Origins" is missing due to licensing issues.

If consumers are looking for perfection, they'd get a re-released version that is flawed. But according to the reviews, "Batman: Return to Arkham" will still do a good job in the new generation of consoles. It's now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
