Samsung has just announced the Android 7.0 Nougat Galaxy Beta Program for users of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge to help the company engineers into fixing bugs before the official release of the Nougat firmware. The program is available on a "first-come, first-served" basis once accepted by the company.

The Galaxy Beta program, which started on Nov. 9 and shall continue until mid-December, allows selected Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge models beta users in the United States, South Korea, China and the United Kingdom to join in testing the latest firmware.

Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint models of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are supported for users in the United States. All unlocked models in the UK are supported while South Koreans will need to have a KT, SKTelecom or LG U+ model in order to register, according to SamMobile.

"Throughout the Galaxy Beta Program period, users can get a feel for Android 7.0 Nougat with Samsung's latest UX, and can provide feedback on performance, reliability and usability. Users' responses will in turn help Samsung develop reliable, high-performing software and provide an improved and optimized experience to all Galaxy users," according to a post on Samsung's website.

Before participating on the program test, users must enroll by downloading the Galaxy Beta Program application from Galaxy Apps, submit an application form via the 'Registration' menu, and enter their Samsung account credentials, according to Samsung.

According to TechTimes, one of the new features included in Android 7.0 Nougat covers a new power savings enhancement that will squeeze more battery life out of smartphones, which is tagged as Google's Doze.

Additional features include new Grace UX contained in the discontinued Galaxy Note 7, multi-window, direct reply notifications, Extra power efficiency, Google Assistant, VR interface, Seamless updates, Data saver, Improved file browser, Instant Apps, bundled notifications, and improved Java 8 language support.

Samsung is now expected to start Android 7.0 Nougat update firstly to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge before making it available to other gadgets such Galaxy S7 Active, Galaxy S7 Batman edition, Galaxy S7 Olympic edition, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S6 Active, Galaxy S6 Ironman edition, and Galaxy S6 Active.
