In "Star Wars Episode IX," Luke Skywalker, played by Mark Hamill, will still be playing a central part in the movie as he will continue to mentor Rey into becoming a powerful Jedi, strong enough to go against the First Order. Collin Trevorrow of "Jurassic World" has been tapped to direct the movie, bringing innovative ideas into filming and promising a mind-blowing ending to the saga.

The "Star Wars IX" has not yet begun pre-production and it set to be released on 2019 with pre-production scheduled a year from now. Nonetheless, the Star Wars buzz persists that even an innocent twitter post by Mark Hamill has been interpreted in countless ways.

Hamill teased that filming for "Star Wars episode VIII" is almost completed, thereby leaving him "out of work." Fans are now saying that another beloved character might be saying goodbye as tragic as Hans Solo did in the recent movie. However, the actor just recently confirmed that he will be reprising his role for episode 9 and his tweet refers to his long overdue holiday in between movies as reported in iDigital Times.

Hamill will still stay on as a combined Obi-Wan Kenobi and a Yoda to Rey for the last movie of the saga trilogy. At the end of "The Force Awakens," Rey was seen on a remote island face-to-face with a hermit-looking Skywalker who never uttered a word. With the next installments, Hamill will have plenty to say and do.

In fact, there is a rumor inspired by a leaked photo that Skywalker may do more than just Jedi training. The Jedi master will even disassemble and redesign the fabled light saber, which will see action in the next two films according to Cinema Blend. For many fans, it is about time that the light saber gets some upgrade

The "Star Wars Episode IX" will be directed by Collin Trevorrow, who will no longer use the filming techniques set by J.J. Abrams who favored the 35 mm. At the time, Abrams approach was considered a risky move, but the blockbuster ratings of the movie proved him right. Abram's technique works and has become mainstream in future Star Wars movie.

Trevorrow also has innovative ideas, scrapping the 35 and replacing it with the 65 mm. He claims that the 35 mm is too small to show the enormity of the galaxy where Star Wars stories occur. The director also promises an explosive ending claiming that it will be the "greatest story ever told." The "Star Wars Episode IX" will be released in 2019.
