Microsoft has released a new software update for the Xbox One that should fix previous issues on the console, particularly found in Messaging, Cortana, Settings, Narrator and Virtual Keyboard.

The system software update has a build code of rs1_xbox_rel_1610.161103-1900 and is released in April 2016, which delivered general stability and performance improvements on the console.

According to GamingBolt, one of the fixes done is related on the console's Messaging option. The updates fixed the Messaging's bug by informing users through a dialog why they cannot send messages, which then direct them to Xbox Support.

Another update on the console is its speech recognition feature Cortana. The option was updated for better voice command recognition. Users from France, Italy, Germany, and Spain could use this feature via the Cortana app, which can be accessed in the My Games and Apps drawer. Field data is collected from users for the improvement of Cortana. Groove Music is also expected not to crash once Cortana is used.

Another fix addresses the problem that leads OneGuide to crash when it is launched while the Narrator is still active. Virtual Keyboard is also enhanced by the fix that stabilizes its input-recognizing capability. In addition, the system update resolves the problem with the Detailed Network Statistics page appearing blank when there is an outage on Xbox Live.

In the Xbox One Preview Program, the update will instantly download once the console's Instant On option is enabled. To manually install the program, users can get through the option All Settings > System > Console Info & Updates, University Herald has learned.

Earlier, Microsoft has released Xbox One preview build that resolves some issues with updates getting stuck, users not being able to sign-in and friends appearing online. On the previous update change log, the update resolved an issue which could cause system updates to stop at 91 percent, and the console to boot to a green screen for several minutes after attempting to restart.

With regards to the "sign-in" issue, the update fixed an issue which sometimes prevented certain users from signing in with their profile. In addition, the update on preview program also solved an issue which could sometimes cause online friends to appear under the Offline list in the Guide.
