For non-fans out there, they may be seeing Scarlett Johansson naked but she's really not. She's actually wearing the iconic thermoptic suit for her half-cyborg character on perhaps the most beloved anime of all time "Ghost in the Shell."

When news broke out that "Ghost in the Shell" will get a Hollywood treatment with actress Scarlett Johansson ("Avengers", "Lucy") as the lead protagonist, real fans to the anime were extremely worried it will be ruined because of the whitewash casting.

But the new and very first trailer of the Hollywood movie beats that because Johansson is really bad-ass and the trailer itself is laden with Japanese imagery that will put cynics and critics to silence, The Verge reported.

Johansson plays the role of "The Major", a soldier whose human mind is implanted inside a full functioning android. Renowned and critically acclaimed director Takeshi Kitano also takes on the role of Chief Daisuke Aramaki.

The Major is the leader of an elite force called Section 9. This section is devoted on stopping the most dangerous criminals in the city, The Rolling Stone reported. The plot will focus on the effects of artificial intelligence and the technology going haywire.

The trailer might leave some audiences thinking that they're going to see Johansson naked but they won't. Like the character she's based from, she's wearing a thermoptic suit that renders her invisible whenever the need arises.

The Hollywood version truly has taken an international approach by filling it with the robot geisha, neon kanjis and katakana signs. It's visually stunning but that is quite expected as the original "Ghost in the Shell" animated movie was also that.

Director Rupert Sanders finally offer a solace to the worried fans because the visuals were faithfully translated to the big screen.  Its animated film version's director, Mamoru Oshii even put his stamp of approval to the Hollywood version.

It looks like both fan and non-fan of the franchise will have something excellent to look forward to come March 31, 2017.
