Android Auto v2.0 is reportedly rolling out in stages that began this week to everyone around the world. The update is said to add several new settings as well as a home screen shortcut that the Android 7.1 added to Android. V2.0 also features a jump shortcut for lists in audio apps.

The Android Auto v2.0 reportedly boasts the ability to use the Android Auto on a smartphone without needing a compatible car or head unit. This feature was reportedly unveiled by Google at the Google I/o earlier this year. Unusable settings found in the APK include automatic restoration of the volume, force day or night mode, rotation lock and the "OK Google" voice detection, Android Headlines reported.

The Android Auto v2.0 home screen shortcut is said to be a regular Android Auto shortcut and not an Android 7.1 shortcut. However, the feature can allow a fast detection of a parked car. This is believed to help in finding a parked car in a crowded full parking area. The feature will also include a new  Floating Action Button (FAB) in audio apps to see the letters of podcasts, playlists and audiobooks allowing users to jump around on long lists like queues and playlists.

Meanwhile, the Android Auto v2.0 reportedly featured a significant redesign making the driving mode part of the app's primary IU. Changes were also made to support the on-phone Auto simulator like new options with the auto-launch and certain Bluetooth connections, Android Police reported.

Android Auto v2.0 is also expected to feature the force day or night mode setting. New options will also be included like Automatic, Forced Day Mode and Forced Night Mode. The feature will be able to switch between day mode and night mode by itself as well as with other variable like ambient light sensors and car headlights.
