With Thor's surprise appearance in the "Doctor Strange" movie, fans are getting even more excited with his third movie. With "Thor: Ragnarok" in post-production, more and more information regarding the plot details, cast and characters are keeping fans at the edge of their seats. Here's everything you need to know about "Thor 3."

"Thor 3" plot details

Based on the post-credit scene in "Doctor Strange," in which Thor drinks beer while talking to the Sorcerer Supreme, it can be presumed that a good chunk of "Thor: Ragnarok" will have him in search of his father, Odin, who is said to be in Earth. Also, the clash between Thor and his brother, Loki, will provide most of the tension in the third film.

Much of the speculation regarding the "Thor: Ragnarok" plot is related to its connection to a comic book classic: "Planet Hulk." Following the confirmation of Mark Ruffalo's appearance as the Hulk, many believe that the third "Thor" film will have him team up with Thor in order to defeat the big bad who is bent on enslaving the human race.

Interestingly, Kevin Feige hinted to Vulture that "Thor: Ragnarok" may pave the way for the events in "Avengers: Infinity War," particularly with respect to Hela's (Cate Blanchett) involvement in the conflict.

When asked if Blanchett will reprise her role as Hela in "Avengers: Infinity War," Feige simply said, "Anything is possible, but knowledge of the comics can be both beneficial to fans anticipating things, and also misleading. So you'll have to see."

"Thor 3" cast

The original "Thor" cast members will reprise their role in the third film, and as expected, new characters are coming to the big screen and they will be played by very familiar faces. "Jurassic Park" alums Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill are confirmed to take part in "Thor: Ragnarok."

Goldblum will play Grandmaster, one of the Elders of the Universe who has a penchant for pitting two people in high-stakes, gladiator-style battles. Neill's character, on the other, has been kept a secret, although it is widely rumored that he too might play an Elder. Blanchett is playing Hela, the main antagonist in "Thor: Ragnarok."

Karl Urban is also on board as Skurge the Executioner, who is popular among comic book fans. According to The Independent, Skurge is an Asgardian villain who later turns a leaf and becomes a good guy who helps Thor in stopping Ragnarok, also known as the Norse apocalypse.

"Thor 3" release date

"Thor: Ragnarok" will hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
