Blizzard Entertainment's famous team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game, "Overwatch," is going to be free to play on Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 during the weekend of Nov. 18 to Nov. 21.

Blizzard made it known that PlayStation 4 owners with a PlayStation Plus membership, Xbox Live Gold members as well as Windows PC users with account in Battle.net will be able to download and play "Overwatch" for free during this period, in which, there are no special keys or sign-up codes needed.

The video game company claimed that the download file will be approximately 12GB in size. The free period fires up at 11 a.m. PT on Nov. 18 until 4 p.m. ET on Nov. 21.

During the free weekend of "Overwatch," gamers will have the opportunity to access to all 13 maps and 22 heroes that are available to play, this includes Quick Play, Weekly Brawl and Custom Games. For the newbie "Overwatch" players who wants to pick up the video game after the free weekend trial period is over, any progress made during the trial period will carry over once purchased.

Furthermore, "Overwatch" gamers will also be able to play four different game modes of the video game, such as Escort, Assault or Escort, Assault and Control. Each mode of the game takes place in different locations, with all modes and maps of the game will support 12 gamers in a 6v6 format. Even so, it appears that the video game company won't be offering Competitive Mode to players trying out the video game during the 3 day period, Polygon reported.

That being said, Blizzard made an interesting move regarding the free weekend trial. The free weekend may be a good way to entice a few players away from other first-person shooter video games, such as "Titanfall 2" and "Battlefield 1," Slash Gear has learned.
