In a bid to win back the Galaxy Note 7 owners who were prompted to return Samsung's latest smartphone, the South Korean tech company is considering boosting up the screen size of the highly anticipated Galaxy S8.

It is claimed that the tech giant is planning to make two versions of the Galaxy S8 smartphone, one handset will have a 5.7 inch screen and the other with a 6.2 inch screen. Samsung seems to dwarf the current Samsung models, the 5.1 inch Galaxy S7, and the larger 5.7 inch S7 Edge. Even so, it has been said that the tech monster will use a new edge to edge screen, wherein the smaller smartphone will have similar dimensions to the current versions, according to Daily Mail.

An unnamed analyst said that in order to attract potential Galaxy Note buyers who prefer a large screen, Samsung has decided to take on bigger screens for both new models of the upcoming S8. The report also goes on to claim that the tech giant will not make a flat Galaxy S8 version, and that the bigger variant of the S8 might get a new naming scheme that might roll out with the word "plus," The Investor reported

That being the case, if the South Korean tech company can increase the screen size of Galaxy S8 that much without increasing the body size of the device, then there's a chance the upcoming Samsung smartphone could fully appeal to both phablet fans and those who want a normal flagship phone, Tech Radar has learned.

In spite of that, tech fans nowadays are still skeptical, as it's unclear where the information came from, and it's at odds with previous rumors, in which it suggested the screen sizes will stay the same as the Samsung Galaxy S7 range. That being said, the tech company is expected to launch the Galaxy S8 during the Mobile World Congress in February 2017.
