Celebrities are making their voices known by taking to social media to express their feelings towards the recent outcome of the 2016 US Presidential Elections. Twitter has become the favorite platform to express a variety of opinions and emotions.

What do celebrities think of the Donald Trump triumph at the elections? A handful has expressed their congratulatory wishes to the new President-elect. Kirstie Alley has tweeted frequently to show her support and happiness for her "friend" in his win. Others like Steven Seagal, Piers Morgan, Scott Baio and Stacey Dash also expressed their elation as reported by E! News.

On the other hand, the majority of Hollywood who has rallied behind Democratic Party candidate Hilary Clinton also took to twitter to express their outrage, disgust and feeling of loss at the recent electoral outcome. It is widely known that President-elect Trump has offended various people from different sectors of the civil society.

For instance, his recent assault of a handicapped reporter was the cause of outrage by the handicapped community. Trump has also have clashes with the LGBT communityand the climate change advocates. He has made derogatory remarks against women, Muslims, Mexicans, immigrants, and refugees.

A tweet from actress Connie Britton addresses those that Trump seemingly disapproves. She starts with "Dear Muslim, Mexican, immigrant, refugee, handicapped, black gay, female human beings and even dear Earth," then makes a promise with "you are not forgotten."

Perhaps a notable post comes from "Harry Potter" author, J.K. Rowling, who is a British citizen, but has strong ties with Hollywood filmmakers. Her poignant tweet starts with pointing out the "easy thing to do" which is "to keep your head down" or let things be as they are. Then she ends with saying "the right thing to do is challenge racism, misogyny and hatred."

Other posts calls for unity coming from celebrities like Katy Perry, Madonna, Mia Farrow, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Lowell, Patton Oswalt, Jessica Chastain, Ben Stiller among many others as reported by AOL.
