Japanese giant tech company Sony made a big headline last year when it announced its "Concept for Android" initiative, which allows thousands of Xperia Z3 owners to beta test an experimental build of Android 6.0 Marshmallow on their Z3 phones.

Today, Sony is making a huge follow-up of that, releasing to the world the first "Concept for Android" build based on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The move follows after the company's release of the first beta build of Android 7.0 Nougat for its Xperia X Performance lines.

The concept software for the Xperia X lines is currently available only to single-SIM units sold in Europe, bearing the model number F5121. Users of the said device can now download the Concept Installer app from the Google Play Store, and then installed the software.

As detailed on the company's website, the new concept also includes "a sneak peek at some the latest features that will be part of future Xperia products" and access to the massive inTouch community. As reported earlier, the Android Nougat 7.0 OS will also bring lots of features and improvements, which include native features such as improved notifications and multi-window support.

In addition to features and improvements, the latest concept also allows access to the company's inTouch Community, giving users direct lines to Sony's software engineers and a chance to influence the development and even future concept releases.

Sony is expected to first release the Android 7.0 Nougat OS update to its Xperia X Performance lines before the end of this year. After that, Sony will move and expand to other devices, which include the Xperia XZ, Xperia X, and X Compact.

The Japanese tech giant has already announced its plan to seed the new firmware to the Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Performance, XperiaZ5 Premium, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z3+.lines. Unfortunately, the company has made some slight changes, Sony said that the Z3 Tablet, Z3 Compact, and Xperia Z3 will not get the big update.
