A Mercer University dancer didn't expect that her "silly" basketball dunk during an event would catapult her to internet fame.

Jenny Mazurkiewicz, a former Greater Atlanta Christian student, was asked by her friend to slam-dunk a basketball into a youth goal at a Mercer University basketball event, the Telegraph of Macon reported. What she didn't know, however, was that they goal was unanchored and when she dunked the ball into the goal, it tipped over and went down with her onto the ground. Thankfully, she went out unscathed.

Sydni Means, Mazurkiewicz's friend, tweeted a clip showcasing the silly dunk moment. The clip went viral, and soon the Mercer dancer became an internet sensation.

"It's been something else," Mazurkiewicz said. "I never imagined that something so silly that I did could blow up the way it has."

Mazurkiewicz' video has been featured in various news and sports news outlets, including ESPN. And since then, many with whom she hasn't been in contact with has been reaching out.

"I've had people contacting me that I haven't seen in years, and they're like, 'Was that really you in the video?'" she said. "So it's been funny."

Mazurkiewicz and Means, both from GAC, were friends since high school. Mazurkiewicz said that they've had this joke about her teaching her friend to play basketball, which she admits was just for fun. Means is currently a junior on the Bears' basketball team.

"But Syd and I have had a lot of fun with it," the dancer said.

While Mazurkiewicz' and her friends had fun at what happened, her parents had different reactions. Her dad had fun alright, but her mom didn't.

"My dad's reaction was that I should have made the shot," she said. Her mom, on the other hand, wanted her to go and get checked by a doctor because she thought she "was not OK."
