Firmware updates happen every once in a while for all smartphone users. These updates include fixing bugs, slight or major improvements for performance and software or bringing newer Operating System versions to particular devices.

Samsung, one of the largest tech companies in the world, have been very keen with their recent updates. They do it for about one to three years every after launch of the firmware, according to Sam Mobile.

For the past years, the updates were sometimes delayed but now they want to make it quicker and faster for the updates' availability. This way, their smartphone users would not end up disappointed.

Samsung just released its newest firmware update for various tablets and smartphone series on Monday, Nov. 7.

The firmware update is available in for the users of the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, other S series, A series, Note 4, tablets, and even the middle specs like the Core2, J1, and even the older SIII. It can be downloaded from Samsung's website.

Countries like Europe, Latin America, South Africa, and Asia would enjoy the firmware update that would run in a 6.0.1 version.

Ways to install the new software on your device

The first one is through the use of PC and the USB cable that is recommended as it is the safest.

The second one is the “Firmware Over the Air” or dubbed as FOTA where in users may manually download the update from a wireless internet connection and install the firmware to their devices. But chances of errors and delays might be experienced as sometimes updates are maybe large and heavy to install.

Important notes after firmware update installation

After installing the firmware update, a hard reset is recommended by Samsung. Just make sure to back up your own data before proceeding to the update procedure.

For the FOTA update, it should go through a fast Wi-Fi connection for devices to carry the installation process.
