After getting blanked by Alabama (1) last week, Ole Miss (24) will look to unleash some of its frustration against Auburn, another team coming off a loss to a high-ranked SEC opponent.

Auburn went into LSU last Saturday and lost to Les Miles' Tigers (6) 35-21. However, the game was not as close as the score suggested. The defense could not stop Jeremy Hill, who ran for 183 yards on 25 carries and found the end zone three times and quarterback Nick Marshall only completed half his passes, adding two interceptions and no touchdowns.

On the other hand, Ole Miss could do virtually nothing on offense. The Rebels gained 205 yards of total offense, converted just 11 first downs and only held the ball for about 21 minutes.

Both teams come in with a 3-1 (1-1 in the SEC) record and each suffered their first loss of the season last Saturday. Both teams need a turnaround if they want to compete in the ultra-tough college football conference.

Auburn and Ole Miss have eerily identical team statistics. Both have scored an average 28.5 points per game, but while Ole Miss has allowed 24 points per game, Auburn has allowed 22.

Auburn freshman quarterback Nick Marshall will be glad to be at home again, where he and his team is 3-0 this season, and to be coming off of a bye week. Wallace, a junior, may be carrying a chip on his shoulder after last week's game, but he and Ole Miss will be playing their fourth road game this year and they have already won two of them.

"I've never been shut out," Wallace told the Associated Press about the loss to Alabama. "The last couple nights - I'm still kind of upset about it."

Alabama may have made Ole Miss' offense look weak, but they do that to a lot of offenses. Auburn defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson said he is not able to take away a solid defensive strategy from last week's game film alone.

"You can get a lot of good ideas from other people's defenses, but if it totally gets outside your scheme of defense it's very difficult to tinker with that in three days," Johnson said. "We might see a few things we like, but some things are just not within our system."

Ole Miss won their matchup with Auburn last year, but that was in Mississippi and Rebels head coach Hugh Freeze said this team is different under first year coach Gus Malzahn.

"They remind me a lot of us last year," Freeze said. "Very, very hungry team that plays with great emotion, great energy and great passion. That doesn't surprise me at all with Gus' leadership. I know that they're off to a great start and have been very, very good at home."
