BlackBerry is alive with all its might. The standalone mobile brand will start to distribute its beta update in the form of a security patch this November. The specific model expected to receive the new Android update is the BlackBerry PRIV. Unfortunately, the update is not available to devices under the Verizon Network.

CrackBerry featured the announcement, wherein it stated that the AAH505 beta update is the brand's candidate update for the month of November. The security patch update is now available to all registered beta testers. Despite mentioning that the new BlackBerry PRIV update weighs around 98MB, the announcement said that it may vary depending on the build of the device.

In some cases, according to the announcement; the beta version will not appear available. A simple dialling of *#*#CHECKIN#*#* will do the trick and will allow users to download the update. When the update was announced on October, GSMArena reported that the BlackBerry PRIV update weighs around 157MB and the firmware version for AT&T users at the time is under code AAG873. Other units, on the other hand, carried a different update name and were all under AAG853. The said update also include October security patches.

BlackBerry has recently transitioned to the Android OS after years of dominating the mobile business. However, as time changes things and Apple, Samsung and other brands started to emerge, the brand, who also has its own OS version - the BlackBerry 10 - eventually gave in. Today, BlackBerry is one of the many mobile brands that hosts the Android service.

Just few months ago, the brand also transitioned from mobile makers to software provider tagging the BlackBerry as the new software.

Few months ago. BlackBerry CEO John Chen confirmed the company's transitioned to software and has put the fate of its hardware requirements to the hands of third party providers.
