Seven years ago, the coolest job was that of an island caretaker in the Great Barrier Reef. Now, the best job in the world allows you to travel around the world and take cool pictures of the places you visit. The best thing about it is that it is still open for applications.

The job ad was posted by Beautiful Destinations, a creative agency which claims to be the 'largest travel and lifestyle community' in social networking sites, such as Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook, with more than 12 million followers in 180 countries. The company also said that they have worked with prestigious brand names, such as The Luxury Collection and Fairmont Hotel.

The ad agency is looking for an in-house photographer who will be required to go on assignments in various parts of the world. The photographer will be a full-time role and sounds exciting based on the description as it requires the chosen person to swim with the whale sharks in the Philippines or dangle out of a helicopter to get a bird's eye-view of Hong Kong.

The application for the job opened in October and will close on November 30. So far, the position has already attracted 40,000 applicants around the world. Those who are interested are required to do a few simple steps before sending in their resume. First, they have to follow Beautiful Destinations on Instagram and YouTube. After that, they have to post a new and original photo or video on Instagram with the tag @beautifuldestinations and #BDTeam.

Despite the job vacancy sounding so enticing, critics say that the job is too good to be true and that there's not much information about the position nor the company. Beautiful Destinations CEO Nick Schweers, however, said that they have separated their social media consumers from their B2B because they are not there to promote their services.
