"Captain America" Directors Joe and Anthony Russo just announced that Chris Evans will no longer play the role of Capt. America in the coming Marvel movies. Taking a cue from the "Captain America: Civil War" ending, Steve Rogers (Evans) is no longer part of the Avengers team and may take on a new persona thereafter.

However, fans will still see Rogers fighting alongside his former teammates in the coming "The Avengers: Infinity War." This time, the heroes will need to set aside their differences to fight a mighty adversary, a galactic being called Thanos.

So who will Rogers be in the Marvel Comics universe including "Captain America 4?" The Russo brothers are not giving any other details what will happen to Steve Rogers after leaving his Capt. America suit when they sat down for an interview with Huffington Post.

If Marvel will follow the comic books stories, the ex-soldier may take on a new persona called the Nomad, the man without a country, according to Just Jared. Upon discovering a government cover-up of a terrorist infiltration among their ranks, Rogers became disillusioned and abandoned all allegiance to his country including his blue and red stripes costume.

Fans can only hope that the Russo brothers are merely giving a teaser as part of the promotional spiel for the coming "Avengers" movie. There is a justifiable reason on why "Captain America: Civil War" writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely did not kill Rogers in the last movie.

In the comic book version, Rogers is supposed to have died and Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, took over the helm. There may be other surprising twists that Markus and Mcfeely have in store for fans and the soon-to-be ex-Capt. America.

Capt. America has always been the soldier for the people so it is not surprising that the Nomad will not be much different. It may just be disconcerting for the fans to see "Cap" dropping the shield.
