A "Rambo" reboot is in the works! The story of one-man army John Rambo is returning to the big screen, but this time with Sylvester Stallone passing the baton to a younger actor.

The "Rambo" reboot, titled "Rambo: New Blood," will not show Stallone as the titular character. Instead, Nu Image/Millennium Films are looking at a younger actor who could give Rambo a vibe similar to that of James Bond, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

Stallone was the star of all the four "Rambo" films titled "Rambo: First Blood" in 1982, "Rambo: First Blood II" in 1985, "Rambo III" in 1988 and "Rambo" in 2008. Stallone made the character his own - single-handedly beating up bad guys and doing macho stuff in the jungle.

Although to many fans of the franchise, it's unimaginable to not see Stallone at the center of the action, but the 70-year-old is said to make an appearance in "Rambo: New Blood" as an older Rambo or a different character.

This wouldn't be Stallone's first time to give a modern take to a treasured classic, as he successful brought the "Rocky" series into the modern world through "Creed," which centered on a younger boxer played by Michael B. Jordan, and with Stallone on the sidelines as his coach. "Creed" in itself was a box office success and a critical darling. The movie scored $170 million in the box office and Stallone received a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his performance.

The "Rambo" reboot is currently in the early stages, Mens Fitness reported. Ariel Vronmen of "Criminal" and "The Ice Man" fame is set to direct the film while Brooks McLaren was enlisted to write the script.

Last year, it was reported that a "Rambo" reboot was being made into a television series under FOX. Although it was announced that Stallone isn't involved with the project, the initial plot of the story reportedly tells the story of Rambo and his relationship with his son.

Since "Rambo: New Blood" is still in the early stages, no news about the plot has been revealed as well as the characters that might appear in the movie.
