Google Home, Google's newest smart speaker, has been found in a Walmart shelf even before its official release date, but customers will not be able to purchase one just yet.

Walmart has set restrictions on new product releases despite being displayed.  What the store does is it disables the register to prevent an item from getting through.

A Walmart personnel has inadvertently put the product on display, without knowing anything about Google Home's release date. According to an Android Police report, the mix-up came to their attention when one of their readers sent a photo of Google Home on display. The man who sent the photo was unable to buy the product because the Walmart manager refused to sell it. 

Walmart and many other stores have new products on hand days before their actual release date. With freight boxes continuously coming, the Walmart personnel lost track of what should be put on display and what should be on hold. Stock items are displayed just before the store opens on the day of the product release or the night before, just after closing.

Why is Google Home in Walmart so talked about? Google Home is a smart speaker equipped with a built-in conversational voice assistant and is priced at $129 dollars that comes with six months free subscription of YouTube Red, the ads-free version. It can perform multiple functions: a personal secretary, a music manager and a smart phone controller.

Users only need to be within shouting distance to voice a command and Google Home will do what is asked. For instance, it can manage the grocery list, give directions by tapping Google Map, or could even tell the latest Billboard hits.

Moreover, Google Home is more affordable compared to its counterpart, the Amazon Echo, which is priced at $180 dollars. The price can be a major factor when it comes to making smart purchases.

After the news came out about having Google Home on Walmart shelves, there were customers who headed out to the store to see if the product is really on sale. However, the item is not for sale according to 9to5Google, at least, not before its official release date on Nov. 4.
