Tech fans were disappointed after Microsoft failed to announce the release date of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 during its company event on Oct. 26. However, a number of reports have surfaced following the tech company's event that Microsoft Surface Pro 5 rolls out in early 2017.

Despite the lack of official details from the American tech monster, tech fans and tech critics have pitched in their own predictions on what to expect once the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is up for grabs early next year. The new Microsoft laptop is said to come along with a full 4K support with a 3860 x 2560p display resolution. Tech enthusiasts also expect the highly anticipated laptop to carry a hefty price tag for its top-of-the-line features.

Kaby Lake Processor

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be powered by Intel's new generation core processor, dubbed as the Kaby Lake. Speculations are banging up the internet suggesting that one of the reasons why the tech company decided not to unleash the Surface Pro 5 this year is because Intel will wait until the end of 2016 before launching its new processor. Apart from the powerful chipset of Surface Pro 5, the device is also expected to run on Windows 10 Redstone 2, according to iDigitalTimes.

In addition to the specs of Surface Pro 5, the high-end laptop will have an upgraded Surface Pen. Rumors have it that the new Surface Pen will have a rechargeable battery and can be charged wirelessly when it is magnetically linked to the device. The device will also have a bigger battery for longer usage and a 16 gigabyte of RAM, PC Advisor has learned.

That being said, the sought-after Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is said to fire up the market along with Apple's MacBook Pro 2016. The two top-of-the-line devices are expected to dominate the laptop industry in 2017.
