The game developers behind "Titanfall 2" say there's no "Season Pass" required to get multiplayer maps and modes.

"Titanfall 2," the sequel to the first-person shooter that allowed players to enjoy playing both as a human pilot and a giant mech called a "Titan," will have its multiplayer maps and modes free for all players, reported GamesRadar. That's right - there's no need to shell out extra cash for these perks.

Game developer Respawn wrote in a blog that they are offering the game's multiplayer content for free along with a purchase of the game. This allows players to enjoy Titanfall 2's full single player campaign, multiplayer maps and modes, as well as long-term player support at no additional charge.

"Remember when buying a game got you everything? Another reason #Titanfall2 is different, no season pass needed..." Respawn wrote in a tweet.

The free content also includes future map packs.

Other perks

Aside from offering the game's content without requiring a season pass as is the common practice among shooters today, Respawn also enumerated the reasons why Titanfall 2 is different from other titles.

First, Titanfall 2's tone is lighter, more playful and funny compared to today's commonly dark-and-serious shooter titles.

Second, while the first Titanfall introduced fast movement complete with wall-scaling, Titanfall 2 upped the ante by adding a grappling and the ability to slide - making for lightning-fast movements. Players will have fun exploring the game maps while preparing for a quick ambush.

Third, Respawn added a whole new cast of characters that add spice to the game. The single-player campaign puts players in the shoes of Pilot-aspirant Jack Cooper, who needs to work together with a Vanguard-class titan named BT-7274. Players will enjoy knowing and playing these characters, as well as interacting with other characters in the game.

Fourth, more Titans! In addition to the three Titan classes in the first game, Respawn introduces six more classes, all available for players to commandeer. There's the "Ronin," a sword-wielding Titan; The giant-laser-shooting "Ion;" the flying "Northstar;" and three more Titans that players can have fun wrecking some havoc with.

These and other features make Titanfall 2 different. As a bonus, it can be played on the PlayStation 4, too, unlike its predecessor that was playable only on the Xbox One and PC.

"Titanfall 2" is now available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC for $69.90 via Origin.
