The latest episode of HBO's new hit show "Westworld" gave even more questions instead of answers to their troubled viewers. One of the biggest questions that's still left unanswered is about the park's co-creator, Arnold. Is he still alive? There's no definite answer, as it is still just four episodes into the series.

Robert Ford, Arnold's partner and co-creator of the park, all but confirmed that he was killed due to past conflicts with other business partners, according to a recap by The Hollywood Reporter. Ford recalls the good old days when they're not inhibited by other Westworld stakeholders, and they can just do as they please in terms of researching and developing the hosts.

Arnold wished to unlock the hosts' consciousness, making them more sentient. The Hollywood Reporter theorizes that if he's alive, Arnold could be one of the characters in the show, and could still have a big role to play in the future.

One plausible theory is that Arnold is Ford. He has fragmented his memory so that he could adhere to the strict guidelines of the group running the park at present. But his creative side, Arnold, still exists and is changing the Westworld landscape, one small step at a time.

Another theory is that Arnold is the Man in Black. It is from the fact that the Man in Black had been playing for 30 years now, just as close to the same age of Westworld itself. Arnold may have assumed a different personality and went back to beat the game he created. However, as pointed out in Gizmodo, the Man in Black has a totally different life outside the park as a philanthropist.

Dead or alive, Arnold has already left a mark on the viewers of Westworld. The sentience he sought for the hosts is now the main source of conflict of the show. And with six episodes to go before the season concludes, there's a big chance that he'll get mentioned again or finally make an appearance.
