Huawei is reportedly gearing up to unveil its next flagship line, speculated to be called the Mate 9, in November. Several sources claim the Mate 9 will be up for grabs in both standard as well as dual-edge curved variants.

Huawei is set to announce its next flagship smartphone line, called the Mate 9, at its event slated to take place in Munich, Germany on Nov. 3. Rumor mills have already started churning all sorts of speculations around the Mate 9, hinting that the Chinese tech firm will come out with two versions of the smartphone - a standard Mate 9 and dual-edge curved Mate 9 Pro, VentureBeat reported.

Huawei Mate 9

The Mate 9 is tipped to be similar to 2015's Mate 8, with an enhanced specs and sharper design. Last week, leaker Evan Blass (@EvLeaks) posted alleged press images of the Mate 9 via a tweet. If the leaked images of the device is anything to go by, the Mate 9 will sport a dual-lens Leica Summarit H 1:2.2/27 ASPH camera, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and USB-C port.

The device's dual-sensor camera is believed to be similar to what was featured on the Huawei P9 released earlier this year, but with improved capabilities. Rumors are running rife that the Mate 9 will sport a 5.9-inch qHD display, 6GB of RAM coupled with 256 storage capacity (when fully-spec'd) and an eight-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 system-on-a-chip, CNet reported.

The Mate 9 will be up for grabs in Enamel Gloss Black, Champagne Gold, Mocha Gold, and a slew of other color options. There's no official word on Mate 9 release date and pricing.

Huawei Mate 9 Pro

Multiple reports claim that Huawei will introduce an upgraded version of the Mate 9 under the "Pro" label. Bearing the codename, Long Island within Huawei, the Mate 9 Pro is expected to feature a dual-edge curved 5.9-inch display and improving upon the Mate 9's standard 1080 full-HD resolution, it is expected to boast a 1440x2560 qHD resolution.

The Mate 9 Pro will only be available in the China Market for $1,300 (fully-spec'd out).
