"Prison Break" Season 5 was announced to the public at the San Diego Comic-Con 2016, 7 years after it was supposed to have ended. Although there is still no confirmed release date for the much-anticipated return of "Prison Break," Wentworth Miller is already hinting us of a possible Season 6.

Miller revealed to Digital Spy during an interview that the new episodes of "Prison Break" Season 5 will be released in 2017, and that future episodes will depend on how fans react to the Season 5 episodes. The British-born actor, who was attending the 2016 Attitude Awards on Oct. 10, said that nine new episodes of the revival will be airing in spring 2017.

However, according to Sunday Express, Miller's co-star Sarah Wayne Callies seemed less optimistic about the possibility of a Season 6 run. The American actress, who played the role of Scofield's girlfriend in "Prison Break," spoke to the press at the San Diego Comic-Con.

"This was pitched as, 'We're gonna do nine episodes, drop the mic and walk away,' and I'm fine with that," she admitted. Although the actress hinted that she's ready if ever there's going to be "Prison Break" Season 6 by saying that she's taking things as they come.

At the San Diego Comic-Con 2016, fans were treated to a full glimpse of the upcoming restart on FOX. The video revealed that Michael was not dead, and that he had survived his previous ordeal and is currently in a prison in Yemen. He would have to plan his next escape with the help of his friends and brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell). The clip showed the start of Michael's grand breakout, using a mere piece of chewing gum.

The major characters are also back in action. Aside from series regular Miller, Purcell and Callies, it has been confirmed that Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, and Rockmond Dunbar will be reprising their roles as Fernando Sucre, T-Bag Bagwell, and C-Note Franklin, respectively.
