Samsung has publicized that it's introducing a new generation of dynamic random-access memory packages capable of 8GB LPDDR4 DRAM for mobile devices, in which the technology will be a potential feature of the Samsung Galaxy S8, the tech company's next flagship smartphone.

Samsung announced that next-generation mobile devices outfitted with an 8GB LPDDR4 DRAM are better suited for tasks such as dual-camera use, virtual reality and 4K UHD playback. Samsung also adds that its new RAM package could grant tablets the type of capacity to handle multiple operating systems through a virtual machine operation, a feature frequently considered exclusive to dedicated PCs, according to Tech Radar.

Furthermore, aside from Galaxy S8, Samsung's state-of-the-art 8GB LPDDR4 package will be of service to other next-generation mobile devices, which means that top of the line smartphones from other companies will have the memory just like any other premium laptops.

On the other hand, Samsung is exploring the possibility of connecting to LG Chem as their new battery supplier for its upcoming Galaxy S8. With the Note 7 tragedy is said to be costing the South Korean tech company as much as $5 billion, Samsung understandably wants to do all it can to prevent another slip up when it releases its other premium device in 2017.

Reports are claiming that Samsung is in talks with LG Chem for possible collaboration in a move to diversify its battery suppliers other than China's ATL and Samsung SDI. A Samsung executive stated that they are looking for diverse suppliers, including LG Chem, The Korea Herald reported.

Nevertheless, when reports of Note 7 explosions first started to spread, Samsung engineers initially believed the mishap was with faulty batteries from Samsung SDI. Thus, it would make sense that Samsung would be linking to LG to make sure that the Galaxy S8 does not share any of the faulty hardware of Note 7.
