As Rockstar Games has already announced that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is slated to fire up in the fall of 2017, Sony is now jumping on the exclusivity train for the PlayStation 4. Also, Sony collaborated with Esports tournament organizer ESL, in which they allow players to easily enter tournaments and compete in multiplayer games, starting off with "NBA 2K17."

VP of brand marketing for SIEA, John Koller, made it known that PS4 players will have first access for the online component of "Red Dead Redemption 2," wherein gamers can earn selected online content in the gameplay of the forthcoming open world western action-adventure video game, according to PlayStation.

Koller's statement instantly confirms that the multiplayer will return in "Red Dead Redemption 2." Although most video gamers probably expected that the video game's multiplayer would be coming back for the sequel, but now, these gamers already know ahead of time what to expect, Cinema Blend has learned.

With regards to PS4's tournaments in multiplayer games, in order for players to join in different tournaments, these gamers need to own the game and they need to have a PlayStation Plus account. Aside from "NBA 2K17," games that will be getting the Tournaments treatment are "Madden NFL," "Mortal Kombat X," "World Rally Championship 5," and the Motorsport racing simulator video game "Project Cars," Mashable reported.

ESL Technology Managing Director, Marcel Menge, said in a statement that they are going to host hundreds of weekly tournaments for video gamers around the world. Menge also said that anyone who wants to try their hand at competitive gaming can now easily do so across a wide variety of titles.

Having said that, tournaments will support 15 different languages, wherein PS4 players around the globe can participate in the new competitive feature. However, video games that are supported by Tournaments are subject to change and can differ by region.
