The Canadian phone maker BlackBerry is shaping up its new mobile flagship which, according to rumors, has midrange specs that could be best alternative for Google Pixel and LG V20 phones. BlackBerry Mercury is also spotted in Geekbench running the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.

Few months ago, rumors about three new Android phones of BlackBerry have started firing up in the internet after Priv has drastically become a failure. The Verge previously reported that the three phones, which are having the codenames Neon, Argon and Mercury, will be released quarterly starting off from the third quarter of 2016 until first quarter iof 2017.

Since Argon and Neon was already released, Mercury remains mysterious up until this time; however, according to Digital Trends, BlackBerry Mercury is spotted in Geekbench running an Android 7.0 Nougat with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 for the processor and 3GB of RAM powered by 3400 mAH battery.

If reports about the Mercury running the latest version of Android, then it will be the third smartphone running such operating system next to LGV20 and the newly launched Google Pixel phones. There are no other under the hood specs revealed aside from the details about the processor and memory.

The same leaked spotted in Geekbench reveals about a 4.5-inch HD display screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio, while the design is said to be similar with BlackBerry Rome, bearing the iconic BB QWERTY keyboard.

Furthermore, BlackBerry Mercury camera specs are the most notable ones based on the leaks. The rear camera has 18MP resolution while the front-facing one has 8MP, surpassing the Google Pixel Phones and LG V20 camera specs.

In conclusion, BlackBerry Mercury has covered three features, and these are nice camera for photo geeks, physical keyboard for average Android users and a price-conscious lower-tier device. Having said all the details about the specs, Mercury is the best alternative for Pixel phones and LGV20 handsets.
