The system chip business of Samsung has started mass production of semiconductors using 10 revolutionary nanometer technology. The chips are expected to be far more powerful and energy efficient, wherein Samsung's much-awaited Galaxy S8 could be the first recipient.

It has been said that the South Korean tech company will be the sole contract manufacturer of Qualcomm Inc's high-end Snapdragon 830 chips, and these processors will be used in half of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S, smartphones which are expected to launch in early 2017, Daily Mail has learned.

Executive Vice President and Head of Foundry Business at Samsung Electronics Jong Shik Yoon stated that the industry's first mass production of 10nm FinFET technology demonstrates their leadership in advanced process technology. The South Korean firm also made it known that they will continue their efforts to innovate scaling technologies and provide differentiated total solutions to their customers.

Most importantly, Samsung's Galaxy S8 is sure to use a 10 revolutionary nanometer chip, although it's unclear whether Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature the Snapdragon 830 of Qualcomm (a Samsung-branded Exynos chip) or both (depending on a person's region). Anyway, the US chipmaker's still-unannounced flagship chip is said to power the most powerful smartphones in 2017, Trusted Reviews reported.

That being said, the tech company is said to be gearing up for the launch of their next offering under the Galaxy S lineup, namely the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus. Even so, information regarding the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is quite scarce.

Rumor has it that the devices are likely to sport a 4K features with a super AMOLED screen, just like Samsung's high-end smartphones from previous years. Moreover, just like the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will come along with both water and dust resistant attributes, according to GSM Arena.
