Since the PlayStation 4 Pro was revealed, tech fans have raised their concerns that the upgraded console is primarily the PlayStation 5. Even so, Sony has further explained that the console is essentially the upgraded version of PlayStation 4, and the tech company made it known that the PlayStation 4 Pro could raise the expectations for the PlayStation 5.

While the Global Head of Marketing & Sales for PlayStation Jim Ryan was talking with Gamefront, Ryan stated that if PS4 Pro is successful, which will be determined in 2 months following its launch, the console could raise the expectations for the upcoming PlayStation 5. Ryan also said that they are doing something that has never been done before in the gaming industry.

When Ryan was asked if PlayStation 4 Pro affect the decisions for PlayStation 5, he responded that he does not know yet if PS4 Pro will affect any future decisions or not, Segment Next has learned.

In spite of that, before PlayStation 4 Pro was due to take the stage at E3 2016, Sony already confirmed that the device will materialize. But, the tech company also confirmed that video gamers wouldn't catch a glimpse of the console at the event. Sony Interactive President Andrew House stated that the console is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4, and with that, the company will be selling both versions through the life cycle, according to PC Advisor.

Be that as it may, the Japanese tech giant has been marketing its upcoming console as a 4K capable device, nevertheless, Sony President House himself admitted that most of the video games will be moving towards 4K instead of being a native 4K. But, there will be some titles that will support native 4K, and the basketball simulation video game "NBA 2K17" will be one of them.
