As Oct. 26 is fast approaching, several reports are now claiming that Microsoft may launch the Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2, along with the all-in-one (AIO) Surface PC. The rumored release of Microsoft Surface Book 2 this October has even brewed much anticipation for the tech fans.

Even though some publications still believe the Redmond based company will hold off the launch until 2017. One thing is for sure, the tech company is definitely planning something, for the reason that the listings for the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 have been changed recently on Amazon. Both devices now have Old Versions tags on the listings.

It has been said that it will be better for the tech company to come up with minor updates for the two devices. It is also believed that the Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 will have their processors upgraded. Instead of the sixth-generation Skylake processors, the refreshed Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book will come along with the new Kaby Lake chips, MS Poweruser has learned.

In spite of that, the main reason why the Surface Pro 5 is not yet out is due to the Kaby Lake processor. Apparently, the Kaby Lake processor has been optimized to deliver maximum performance while at the same time consuming minimal power. Which means, the user will end up with a much better battery life compared to what the previous Surface Pro 4 offers. Nashville Chatter Class reported.

That being said, rumor has it that there will also be two variants for the Surface Pro 5, a low-end version with a 2K display, and a high-end version with 4K resolution. Both devices will come along with a 16 gigabyte of RAM. The overall specs of the Surface Pro 5 are expected to resemble the features of Surface Pro 4.
