The Vampire Diaries Season 8 is going to be the final season of the show. Many are wondering if Damon and Elena are going to end up together. Some fans are rooting for it but star Ian Somerhalder said that they shouldn't.

According to TV Line, Ian Somerhalder expressed that he don't believe that Elena should end up with him. It actually puzzles him. Somerhalder stated, "This poor young girl from this tiny town lost everything." Elena lost all of the things that were important in her life and the brothers are to blame for it. The actor added, "These guys ruined her life, yet everybody wants her to end up with one of them."

A few weeks ago, no one can confirm if Nina Dobrev is going to back for The Vampire Diaries Season 8. Now, there are rumors from different sources that she's going to be back with a possible crossover episode to The Originals. There were speculations that the creator of both The Originals and The Vampire Diaries, Julie Plec wants to save The Originals from being cancelled.

Nina Dobrev's character is rumored to appear in a cameo in The Vampire Diaries Season 8 while starring in The Originals. The creators of both shows are hoping that this can boost the ratings for The Vampire Diaries as well as The Originals.

It remains to be seen if Elena is going to be awaken in The Vampire Diaries Season 8 and if she will be awaken, what role is she going to play?
